World War II Reaching a New Generation
Today's New York Times had a great article featuring 3 recent books by young authors, all three set during World War II. One of these authors was Ruta Sepetys, whose latest novel, Salt to the Sea, uses the torpedoing of the Wilhelm Gastloff as the backdrop for its story. As a reminder, back in October of 2013, Cathryn Prince spoke to the Book Club about her non-fiction book, Death in the Baltic, which provided a historical accounting of this tragic disaster.
